Madyson Zoucha, a soon-to-be graduate of Boone Central High School, won the Miss Nebraska Teen title in the National American Miss (NAM) state competition held in Des Moines, Iowa last weekend.
From June 11th to 13th, the Des Moines Marriott Downtown hosted competitions for the states of Iowa and Nebraska, with many girls determined to win the crown.
NAM is a pageant system designed to build confidence and teach real skills to girls across the country.
Zoucha attended several different events including formal wear, personal introduction, and interview. In formal attire, girls wear fancy ball gowns and present judges with appropriate and confident movements that describe who they are.
During the personal introduction, the girls have 30 seconds to prepare a speech about themselves, including the passions and interests of each participant.
And in the interview, the candidates stand in front of four to eight jurors and are asked questions that they have to answer at their own discretion.
Zoucha not only excelled at her compulsory events, but also at other events such as modeling, photogenics, and the catwalk. She received first, second place in the areas of model making and photography and first place overall in the catwalk.
