Crystal City will boast the tallest multi-purpose tower in Decentraland

Crystal City, the newest objective in the Metaverse, is now open to the public. Its central crystalline tower, Crystal Tower, is the tallest multi-purpose building in Decentraland at 548 feet, a premier Metaverse platform. The 16-acre Crystal City will house offices, shops, galleries and events as well as the tallest Viewing platform in Decentraland, which gives companies, retailers and creatives the opportunity to rent space in the tower, in the market place and in the event area. Brands can also lease open lots to develop their own unique HQ structures. There will be a launch party with DJ and activities October 17thH (see party details at the end of the press release).

Designed by the young, visionary architect Felipe Escudero Studio Felipe Escudero to the LEDY, a leading Metaverse developer, and Decent Amusements, the district’s manager, Crystal City breaks the confines of the contemporary physical world. By defying gravity and material properties, it offers a transcendent, immersive experience that can only exist in the digital world.

Crystal City’s soaring metallic crystalline tower leaps upward and outward like a glacier rising with it from its iceberg bed Viewing platform Encircling one of the branches of the Crystal Tower on the 16thth Floor.

A large, public event space The size of two football fields (119,622 SF) forms the base of Crystal City. His series of cutouts closely resemble crevasses. Located in the middle of the event room JEWELa 2-storey organically shaped sculpture by Escudero that can serve as a communal gallery space.

Within the public event space is a marketplace, whose bottom gives the illusion of a thin layer of shimmering water. A gravity-defying blanket of wafer-thin ice hangs over the market, floating like a spaceship. As the open market expands and rises upwards with new space for retailers and other tenants, the blanket ice will melt to accommodate growth, a nod to what happens in the material world when glaciers face industrial development melt. but without consequences for the earth and its inhabitants.

While parcels of land in Decentraland, one of the largest and most well-known metaverses, typically cost thousands of dollars to buy, Crystal City will allow artists, creators and businesses to rent space at affordable rates. Developers and tenants can then use their imaginations to create their own amazing spaces.

Felipe Escudero, who fell in love with Crystal City while designing it, will house a studio and gallery in a structure of his own design that resembles a giant floating glacier near the towers. Gallery OBIO Escuderos will present recently launched OBIO projects that mix music and videos with fashion and objects. “I’m inspired by nature to create pieces that feel alive, like they’ve been given a soul,” Escudero said. The OBIO gallery will be accessible via teleportation.

“The Metaverse is a space where new design possibilities exist,” said Felipe Escudero. “Here I can apply ideas that cannot exist in the real world, ideas that can provide inspiration and vision for the future physical world,” added the Ecuadorian architect.

“Crystal City is designed to inspire wonder and inspire creativity. It will be a major new milestone in the metaverse, becoming a destination for social interaction, discovery and exploration with ever-changing experiences and events,” said LEDY co-founder Mark D’Andrea.

“We wanted to turn the Central Marketplace neighborhood into something spectacular,” said Rob Dixon of Decent Amusements, “and Felipe and LEDY delivered. With state-of-the-art design and shared services for renters, this will be a great place for any business or creator to build their presence in the Metaverse.”

The reveal event is scheduled for October 17 at 7:00 p.m. EST. Alongside Gallery OBIO, the unveiling will also feature Diverge, the next-gen Metaverse fashion brand creating high-end wearables and experiences. November will also see a Metaverse incarnation of the Sunset Strip, including designs inspired by the world-famous Whiskey-a-Go-Go and Rainbow Bar & Grill.
