Fashion and technology will be the focus of the next Creative Exchange event



Victorian fashion designers are exploring a digital future alongside the introduction of the luxury shopping area in the Metaverse, Illusory world, at Melbourne International Games Week.

At Melbourne International Games Week 2021 (MIGW), fashion and technology will be the focus of a Creative Victoria’s Creative Exchange event on Friday, October 8, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Co-hosted by ACMI, this creative industries event brings together local fashion designers and global thought leaders and will bring the highly anticipated results of the Victorian Fashion Industry Digital Fashion Incubator and global luxury fashion launch at Metaverse, Semblance World, backed by a grant from EPIC Games.

The Digital Fashion Incubator will showcase the experience of seven Victorian apparel and accessory designers exploring what digital platforms like Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality can do for their business. The Digital Fashion Incubator, an initiative of Creative Victoria and leading VR / AR studio Ignition Immersive, offers designers an unprecedented opportunity to explore new technologies and experiment with the way their consumers experience fashion.

From AR accessories in the palm of your hand to “try before you buy” to fully immersive virtual catwalks, designers have worked with Ignition Immersive on AR and VR technologies to create new works and develop their brands so that customers can do it Be encouraged to adopt new technology when it comes to their wardrobes.

In addition to its own real world applications, much of the work produced by designers will also be showcased in a new luxury shopping metaverse, Semblance World, which will be unveiled at MIGW worldwide.

Illusory world is an immersive virtual platform created by serial entrepreneur and Conde Nast College Board member, Roberta Annan, and fashion technology founder, Badrriya Henry, that aims to create digital experiences for brands and consumers across the international fashion industry.The aim is Semblance World reimagine Enable luxury brands in the age of digitization to create temporary events, VIP experiences, fashion shows, playful touchpoints, rentable virtual catwalks and showrooms, sustainable digital 3D model collections and educational tools that expand their reach and provide access to valuable market data. The results of all of these unprecedented collaborations will be showcased at the Creative Exchange streaming event hosted by ACMI on Friday, October 8th, 2–3:30 pm

Hosted by leading fashion journalist Janice Breen Burns, game industry writer, Jini Maxwell and Public Programmer and Videogames Curator, ACMI, Arieh Offman, the event will include a panel discussion between Darren Vukasinovic from Ignition Immersive, Estelle Michaelides from Micky in the Van, Denni Francisco from Ngali and Courtenay proud of Maude Studio, followed by an in-depth interview with Roberta Annan and Badrriya Henry on the global launch of Illusory world.
