Capela has missed the Hawks’ last six games as he continues to suffer from a sprained left ankle sustained on Jan. 7. Head coach Nate McMillan said the 27-year-old is feeling “better” and hopes he can return to the pitch tonight.
Capela had his troubles this season before getting injured, averaging 11.8 PPG — his lowest since the 15-16 season when he was a member of the Houston Rockets. However, he was solid on the glass with 13.1 RPG while racking up 1.5 blocks per contest.
backup center Onyeka Okongwu was very effective in Capela’s absence. In Atlanta’s last game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Okongwu had 17 points, eight rebounds and a career-high five blocks — good for a 46.1 fan duel Points. At just $5,800 on FanDuel, the 21-year-old becomes one of the more affordable options on DFS boards should Capela be ruled out. If Capela ($7,900) is finally active, both he and Okongwu can most likely be avoided.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Hawks as -2 home favorites and -134 on the money line.
