After originally being announced for PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles and PC, Hogwarts legacy will also apparently make its way to the Nintendo Switch when it releases later this year. The Switch is listed as the platform the game will be released on according to the FAQ page on the game’s website. No word yet on whether Hogwarts legacy will be a cloud version or not for the switch.
Hogwarts legacy is an open-world role-playing game set in 19th-century Hogwarts. Players customize their own Hogwarts fifth year student to explore the wizarding world. The gameplay consists of traversing on flying broomsticks, solving puzzles and fighting magical creatures. You can read an in-depth feature about the game on the PlayStation Blog.
Of course, we can’t talk about anything Harry Potter-related without mentioning the franchise’s creator, JK Rowling. She has come under fire in recent years for her damaging comments about the trans community. The aforementioned FAQ page is quick to note while “JK Rowling supports Portkey Games”, the game’s story “is not a new story by JK Rowling”.
Hogwarts legacy will be released this holiday season for PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch, subject to any delays. Check out yesterday’s official gameplay reveal Hogwarts legacy State of affairs below.
