mirchi: Launch of the Mirchi app in the US, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates

NEW DELHI: Indian and South Asian listeners in the US, UAE, Qatar and Bahrain can now install the Mirchi app on their Apple and Android smartphones, Android Auto and Apple Car Play systems. More countries are expected to be added to the list soon.
While Mirchi has had a 24/7 presence on consumers’ phones with viral videos and social media posts on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and Facebook, this is an important step in engaging directly with Mirchi’s fans and followers by the Mirchi app is installed on their cell phones.

We are now bringing the full Mirchi experience to every Indian and South Asian living abroad. With the launch of this app, we are cementing our position as a multi-content, multi-format and multi-lingual music and entertainment brand for Indians around the world,” said Vineet Jain, Chairman of Entertainment Network India Limited. ENIL owns the radio and entertainment company Mirchi, which operates India’s largest private FM radio brand with 73 frequencies in 63 cities – Radio Mirchi.
Mirchi app brings 12 live FM stations from 11 cities in India – Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Pune, Chandigarh and Patna with several more in the pipeline. “We have been at the forefront of FM radio in India for more than 20 years and are now making all of our radio stations and much more audio content available to our listeners outside of the country,” said Prashant Panday, MD and CEO of ENIL.
For someone from these cities who lives outside the country, the stations are “time-shifted” to accommodate time zone differences. “The app offers brands and marketers from all regions the opportunity to connect with affluent NRI audiences in the US, Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE,” said Panday.
