PNB launches Android app for employees with disabilities

Punjab National Bank (PNB) announced that it has launched the PNB Pride CRMD module tool, an Android-based application for employees with disabilities, to monitor and effectively track borrowers with special mentions (SMA).

This tool should also be compatible with iOS very soon, it said. SMA accounts are stress credits that are identified early on, which enable banks to take corrective action in a timely manner and prevent such borrowers from sliding down into distressed assets (NPA).

PNB said its Pride module has built-in talkback software that allows the visually impaired to independently access the system and connect with customers by simply tapping their phones. The app aims to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities.

Vijay Dube, Executive Director of Punjab National Bank, highlighted the skills of employees with disabilities and the use of their skills in designing PNB warriors and implementing PNB Pride.

“The PNB Pride CRMD module was developed as part of a participatory model and feedback from employees with different skills was included in the module. The module is specially designed for our visually impaired employees so they can work comfortably and contribute to business and collections on credit accounts, “said Dube.
