Sega’s new mobile role-playing game gets four times as many dislikes as likes on YouTube •

Apparently, fans are not pleased that this is a mobile game.

Do you remember the surprising new mobile RPG that Sega teased yesterday? Well, people are already voting on the reveal trailer on YouTube.

While we still don’t know much about it – at the moment we only have a very short teaser and a website with very little information about it – fans show their dismay that this is just a mobile title they know how; by voting it.

Without knowing anything about the new IP, the teaser trailer currently collects four times as many dislikes as likes on its Japanese-language YouTube account. While I can’t confirm the taste of the comments in Japanese, the majority of the English-language comments seem dissatisfied that the game only appears to be coming to mobile devices, which leads some to fear that it will be “monetized”[d] to death”.

“The only good thing about this trailer is that you don’t shame an existing IP with even more smartphone junk,” said one commenter, while another said, “You raised my hopes and smashed them very expertly.”

It wasn’t all bad news for everyone, however. “That looks great! I’m really looking forward to it!” insisted one happy commentator.

Given the countdown on the site, we will likely learn more about the mysterious game at Tokyo Game Show 2021 on October 1st.
