âStan Lee’s Genesis is a tile building game where players create their own universe with a resource system made up of sparks, energy, motivation, conflict and empathy. The players build their own terrain, starting with a Nexus tile. As the game progresses, players can connect their terrain to a larger playing field through crossover events. Each player continues to build the universe through resources and map assets and create various elements including heroes, villains, teams, terrain features and locations, lots and events. “
“Every game is different as players both compete against each other and work together as they build a comic book universe filled with heroes, villains, super teams, evil syndicates, galactic threats and all-encompassing crossover events!”
The game has been in development for years due to its huge size and scope. Stan Lee’s Genesis will feature over 200 character designs by Tom Akel and Ryan Benjamin. Some of these have already leaked in the past few months. Ryan Benjamin is best known for his work on the comics Suicide Squad, Iron Man, and Batman.
Rocketship and Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment revealed plans to fund the game on Kickstarter. This follows a number of successful crowdfunding campaigns from Rocketship Entertainment, including Let’s Play, Stan Lee’s Backchannel, Girls Have a Blog, and Outrage. Stan Lee’s Genesis will go to press sometime in 2022.
