The Most Disturbing Moments From The Midnight Club Leaderboard

Natsuki (Aya Furukawa) doesn’t let too many people in. She hides behind a wall to keep others at bay, but she wants to give Amesh (Sauriyan Sapkota) a try. Sitting in front of a roaring fireplace, Natsuki tells a story about a girl named Teresa who wants to drive a car. She just wants to go and go. It’s time. That night she meets two hitchhikers – a man and a woman – who are on their way to a gig in the city.

They’re nice enough, but something feels a little off. The man keeps babbling about allegedly killing a gas station attendant — or “maybe I’m just full of shit,” he quips. Finally, Teresa complains about an unpleasant odor and begins to cough. She also starts seeing the same person on the side of the road and it seems like they are just driving around in circles. The walking person quickly turns into some kind of zombie. Teresa’s passengers also change – their faces turn green and their eyes pale.

When she stops again at the gas station, the woman suggests to Teresa that they open the nearby garage. Teresa does and she finds herself unconscious in the front seat of a car. The garage is full of exhaust fumes. It’s been a metaphor for suicide all along. The two hitchhikers turn into two versions of themselves and they talk her into ending her life. Natsuki’s story is the most disturbing as it is genuinely lifelike and downright haunting.

If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing or calling 988g 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
