at The New Yorker, we strive to make the magazine a great reading experience, whether you’re walking by the beach, in bed, or at a newsstand. Today we’re excited to introduce our new Android app – a way for more people to enjoy the publication at home and on the go.

Downloadable now on Android, the New Yorker app offers subscribers an enhanced way to enjoy the magazine’s signature blend of in-depth coverage, commentary, criticism and humor. Readers can browse articles from our Top Stories feed, read every issue published since 2008, and share favorite pieces with friends. Can’t finish an article in one sitting? The app saves your space. The Android app also highlights cultural events from the magazine’s Goings On About Town section, allowing users to add concerts, dance performances and more straight to their calendar. All in all, the app is the best way for Android readers to keep up to date The New Yorker’s Writers say about the world. More features will be released in the coming months.

The New Yorker app, which is also available for iOS users, is one of many perks for subscribers. Another is New York’s Live Spring Series, a trio of digital events featuring New Yorker Staff writers and special guests that will be held next week. Two of the discussions deal with current crises – Russia’s war in Ukraine and the fight against voter repression in the US – while a third offers a touch of humor with comedians Nick Kroll and Aidy Bryant. The audience can ask questions at the end of these sessions and in an extended Q&A during the discussion about Ukraine.

Sign up today to get access to the New York app for Android and the New York Live Spring Series. You will receive a free tote bag along with this handy guide to tote bag etiquette.
