It’s time for another Dealmaster! Our latest roundup of the web’s best tech deals includes a new sale for Amazon’s Kindle e-readers. The deals include the latest Kindle Paperwhite, which has been discounted to $105. This is the lowest price we’ve seen so far and matches the offer we saw on Black Friday.

As a refresher, we gave the Kindle Paperwhite a glowing review when it launched last fall, calling it the best Kindle – and therefore the best e-reader – for most people. There’s no need to upgrade if you’re happy with a previous Kindle, but compared to its predecessor, the 11th Gen Paperwhite has a more spacious display (now at 6.8-inches [17 cm] instead of 6 inches [15 cm]), a USB-C port, a better front light, more consistent responsive performance, and improved battery life (which Amazon claims is around 10 weeks per charge). It’s still waterproof, and if you can live with Amazon’s locked ecosystem, the Kindle library remains expansive. This offer also includes three months of Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited e-book service. Please note, however, that this is automatically renewed by default.

The sale also brings the children’s version of the Kindle Paperwhite to $115. That’s only $5 more than the best price we’ve tracked. While this variant is marketed to younger readers, it features the same hardware as the standard Paperwhite, plus a case, a longer two-year warranty (compared to one year for the standard model), and no ads on the home screen or lock screen (what else costs an extra $20). The basic Kindle Kids e-reader, reduced to $65 today, might be better value for most kids, but the Paperwhite Kids model may be worthwhile for those willing to buy one to pay little more.

Also on sale is Amazon’s Fire HD 8 line of tablets. The standard 8-inch slate is down to $45, while the Kids Edition is available for $70. Both offers correspond to the best prices we have tracked. Admittedly, these devices are showing their age, Amazon’s operating system is still self-serving and lacks Google apps, and the overall performance and build quality are light years away from that of an iPad. But if you’re just looking for a tablet for basic web browsing, video watching, or keeping the kids entertained, these still do the job — and they’re even cheaper when discounted that way.

Elsewhere, our roundup has a new low price for the 55-inch version of LG’s C1 OLED TV, which has dropped to $1,197 at various retailers. LG only announced pricing details for its 2022 OLED sets this week, so here the company is cleaning up stock for 2021 models like the C1. However, as we’ve mentioned, this is usually a great time of year for TV bargain hunters to pounce.

LG’s new C2 TV should be an improvement, to be clear; The company says its upgraded “OLED Evo” panel will boost peak brightness, the four HDMI 2.1 ports will support 48Gbps bandwidth (up from 40Gbps), and there’s a new 42-inch model for will give to those who want a smaller device. But the 55-inch model will retail for $1,800 at launch and probably won’t reach the current price of the C1 for a few months. The C1 is still an almost universally acclaimed TV, sitting in the middle of LG’s OLED lineup, but still delivering deep black colors, excellent contrast, wide viewing angles, smooth movement and gaming-friendly features. If you’re looking to upgrade to an OLED TV then the C1 might be better value at this price point.

In addition, we also have discounts on Apple’s new iPad Air, AirPods Pro, Apple Watch Series 7 and MacBook Pro, Xbox consoles, Razer gaming accessories, a range of video games for PC and consoles, Philips Hue smart lights and much more. You can see our full curated synopsis below.
