WhatsApp brings notifications for calls you missed due to DND mode

Do Not Disturb (DND) is great when you don’t want to get notifications, but it’s so easy to accidentally leave the feature on. It can be frustrating to turn off the feature after a few hours and see a scrolling feed of missed important notifications. Because of this, WhatsApp will trigger missed call notifications for calls you receive while DND mode is on.

This feature is currently in beta testing, so don’t expect to see it just yet. It was first spotted for iOS beta users in June. According to WABInfo, the feature is now making its way to Android beta testers.

WhatsApp gives you missed call notifications for calls you missed in DND mode

The functionality of this feature is not too revolutionary. However, it could be helpful for people who keep their DND mode on all the time. If someone calls you while your DND mode is on, you’ll see it in your conversation with that person.

WhatsApp already has a feature that notifies you when you miss a call from someone in the chat. However, this new feature will let you know if you missed it while DND mode was on. You see “Missed voice call around [time] while Do Not Disturb is on. You will also receive the same message if you miss a video call.

So this isn’t exactly a huge lifestyle change for the app. It helps because if you keep missing calls because you have DND enabled, you can spot and make the right changes.

There’s no telling when the app will be officially released, so keep an eye out. It’s been tested for a while, so it shouldn’t take too long.

WhatsApp is one of the most important messaging apps on the market. It’s very popular and one reason is that it has such a robust beta testing program. In the meantime, more updates should come from the app.
