We’ve all been waiting for our next look at Final Fantasy XVI, and many thought the highly-anticipated action RPG would make its debut at Tokyo Game Show 2022 – but unfortunately, that’s looking increasingly unlikely. The Tokyo event isn’t over yet – it runs all weekend – but the blockbuster trailer is Tilt Will be released sometime in the first two days.
But hey, at least we have new artwork! As captured by Roger J on Chinese blogging site Weibo, the cute-looking image features protagonist Clive seated with supporting characters Joshua and Jill. It was drawn by the very talented Final Fantasy XIV artist Yosuke Mogi, and the Japanese text below translates to “This is the story of being freed from the blessings of the Crystal”.
The art also reiterates that Final Fantasy XVI is slated for a Summer 2023 release, so nothing has changed on that front.
We expect Square Enix to release a full-resolution version of the graphic soon, so prepare your desktop wallpaper settings.
Back there is There’s still time to produce a new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI, but we’re not getting our hopes up right now. It’s also worth noting that Square Enix doesn’t have the game for its own panel or presentation this weekend – and it’s the same story for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
